这个工具展示了一个通用算法，可以自动将任意建筑轮廓转换为多区域建筑能源模型（BEM）。该算法遵循当前对BEM热区划分的指导方针，当实际室内空间边界尚未定义时。预期的应用是在方案设计阶段快速生成模型，以及用于城市总体研究。我们提出了一个论点，即当前将核心区与周边区分开的建议有效地遵循了直骨架划分。
