ExpressMarine 采用了参数化建模的全新方法。数学和图形参数的结合为3D模型奠定了基础。这构成了船只的DNA，整个结构都是从这个DNA发展而来的。在这个层面上所做的更改将沿着层级向下传播，允许相互依赖的元素相应地变形。
ExpressMarine 优先考虑效率，允许在同一模型中使用参数化和非参数化元素，从而最小化完全参数化方法的缺点，在那里建模时间被浪费在对某些可能永远不会使用的参数的彻底定义上。
只需使用rhino犀牛软件来建模复杂的几何体，或者将它们导入并转换为ExpressMarine结构对象。
