About ASC
The Architectural Society of China (ASC) is an academic organization composed of architectural science and technology workers in China, supervised by the China Association for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. Established on October 23, 1953, ASC is one of the earliest academic organizations founded in the new China. Renowned architectural experts such as Liang Sicheng and Yang Tingbao have served as leaders of the society. The first council of ASC included many members from the Chinese Institute of Architects, gathering the best experts, scholars, and engineering technicians in various architectural professions in China, becoming a reliable think tank and assistant for the government to promote urban and rural construction.
Organizational Structure and Membership
ASC has multiple working committees and secondary organizations, with over 100,000 individual members and more than a thousand group members. Members of the society include architects, engineers, scholars, researchers, etc., covering all aspects of the construction industry. The society provides an academic exchange and professional development platform for members by holding academic conferences, publishing journals, organizing technical training, etc.
