Introduction to the Plant Photo Bank of China (PPBC)
The Plant Photo Bank of China (PPBC), established by the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2008, is a specialized institution for the management of plant images. It systematically collects, digitizes, organizes, and preserves plant photographs, negatives, slides, digital image source files, and their copies. The PPBC adopts the latest classification system, providing a convenient platform for plant image information for scientific research, science popularization education, book publishing, and economic and social services.

PPBC Resources
PPBC has amassed a vast collection of plant images, including 620 families, 7657 genera, 78077 species (including 11034 varieties) with a total of 15610035 images. The resources encompass color photographs, line drawings, colored paintings, and seed images. Additionally, the library possesses a 30m³ constant temperature and humidity film storage cold room, as well as a digital file storage system with DELL high-speed data servers and MD1000 disk arrays, ensuring the safety and long-term preservation of image data.

Users can quickly find the required plant images through advanced search functions based on plant taxonomy and region.
